Session Details
first visit
Before your first visit, book a Consult + First Visit appointment. Your provider will review your skin and hair type, confirm your candidacy, discuss the areas you want treated, and walk you through the process and pricing options.
Before each session, shave the treatment area 24 hours in advance. Avoid sun exposure, self-tanner, waxing, and tweezing for at least 1–2 weeks before your appointment. Come to your session with clean, product-free skin.
Treatment
During treatment, your provider will pass the DiolazeXL handpiece over the treatment area. Sessions are quick — small areas take just a few minutes, larger areas 20–30 minutes. The built-in cooling makes the experience comfortable throughout.
After your Treatment
After your session, you may notice mild redness or warmth in the treated area, similar to a light sunburn. This typically resolves within a few hours. Avoid sun exposure and apply SPF to treated areas between sessions. You can shave as needed between appointments — but do not wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams, as these remove the follicle that the laser needs to target.
Results develop progressively with each session. Most patients see significant reduction after 4–6 treatments, with sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart. Some areas or hair types may require additional sessions for optimal results.

is the treatment permanent?
DiolazeXL provides permanent hair reduction — the majority of treated hair will not return. Some maintenance may be needed over time, particularly if hormonal changes stimulate new follicle activity. This is different from electrolysis, which permanently destroys each individual follicle. If true permanent removal is your goal for every single hair, ask us about combining laser with electrolysis.
How many sessions will i need?
Most patients achieve significant results in 4–6 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart. The exact number depends on your hair color, thickness, the area being treated, and how your body responds. Your provider will give you a realistic estimate at your consultation.
Can i treat my face with DiolazeXL?
Yes, DiolazeXL is precise enough for facial areas including the upper lip, chin, sideburns, and jawline. One important caveat: if your facial hair is hormonally driven — common in women with PCOS or hormonal imbalances — laser may stimulate additional growth rather than reduce it. In those cases, electrolysis is a safer and more effective choice. If you are unsure, mention your hormonal history at your consultation and we will guide you appropriately.
What if I have already had laser elsewhere and still have regrowth?
You are a good candidate for our 3-pack touch-up package. Many patients who received laser treatment at other clinics come to us for finishing work — either because their previous provider used a less powerful system, did not complete an adequate number of sessions, or did not time treatments correctly with the hair growth cycle. We will assess where you are and recommend a plan to get you the rest of the way there.
Will it work on my skin tone?
DiolazeXL is safe and effective for a wide range of skin tones. Very dark skin tones require careful assessment to ensure settings are appropriate and safe. Your provider will evaluate your skin at your consultation and adjust treatment parameters accordingly.
